little daisy (looking thing)

to the strong breeze I am inconsequential,
it carries on unhindered by me.
to birds and beasts I am unseen,
failing to attract them or affect their mortality.
to the groundskeeper I am a weed,
and an annoyance to his tools.
to my neighbors I am a leech,
and the earth and the air seem not for sharing.
to the leaves and the twigs I am a landing pad,
a cushion to soften the blow.
but to the ant I am a mountain,
a journey to be made, a highway,
and to the bee I am the ingredient of the foodstuff,
the very means of life itself.
and to this random boy I am special;
that is enough.
